You don’t have to spend hours in front of the mirror to get your makeup perfect. Here are some tips and tricks that can help you in applying cosmetics.
Foundation before concealer
Make sure to apply your foundation all over your skin including your neck area, just leave the under eye area bare, before applying the concealer.
Concealer as Primer
After applying the foundation, use concealer to cover the dark circles under your eye. Concealer also brightens your under eye area if you use two shades lighter than your skin tone. Apply the concealer on top of your eye lids and it works as a great primer. With one product you can conceal, brighten and you can use it as an eyeshadow primer.
After applying foundation and concealer, use a setting powder to settle your foundation. By using a setting powder your under eye area will not crinkle.
Highlighter as an eye shadow
If your highlighter is of a light tone, you can easily use it as an eyeshadow. The highlighter pigment stands out more if it is used as an eyeshadow.
Bronzer as an eyeshadow
You can also use a bronzer as an eyeshadow. Apply bronzer on your crease area, it will make your eyes look bigger.
Restore dry eyeliner
If you have a dry eyeliner, don’t toss it in the dustbin, just pour two or three eye drops in the eyeliner bottle and mix it till it’s nice and moist.
If you have a broken blush or a broken eyeshadow, just put the pigment in a bowl and add a little bit of petroleum jelly, mix it thoroughly and you will have a lipstick shade made at home.
- Wider eyes
Sweep your mascara towards your nose, instead of upwards. It will make your eyelashes look long and your eyes wider.
- Red and Green concealer

- Clumpy mascara
If you have a clogged mascara brush, just put it in hot water for a few minutes and your will get rid of the clumpy mascara brush.
- Skip the clear base nail polish coat
If you want your nail polish to look more vibrant, simply apply white nail polish as a base coat instead of the clear coat.
- Check your makeup under different light
You may not always have the best light when you are applying your makeup. Before going anywhere check your makeup in the bright day light or under a bright white bulb, it will make you see all the spots on your face that you have missed.
- Remove glitter nail polish easily
Some nail polishes are not easy to take off. Take a small glass jar and fill it with cotton. Now pour nail polish remover in the glass jar. When the cotton is fully soaked, rub your fingers against the glass jar, it will remove the glitter nail polish more quickly.
- Make lipstick stay on longer
Put on a coat of lipstick, then lay a tissue across your lips. Dust translucent powder on to make the color set so it stays on longer.
